Every child deserves to start on the right foot.
Sometimes, a pair of shoes can make a big difference in a child’s ability to feel comfortable, confident, and ready to learn. CIS Steps for Success s a new county-wide initiative of Communities In Schools in Ohio County – designed to help ensure that students have access to a new pair of shoes when footwear becomes a barrier to their success at school. For some children, something as simple as a pair of properly fitting shoes can remove a barrier of attendance and participation and provide comfort and confidence.
Through this campaign local churches, businesses, organizations, and community members can sponsor shoes for students in need. When a CIS Site Coordinator identifies a student who needs shoes, the coordinator can help the student select a new pair that fits properly and meets their individual needs.

Your donation can help provide a student with something they need to walk into school feeling comfortable and confident. The United Way of the Upper Ohio Valley has teamed up with Communities In Schools in Ohio County to create a donation page to help provide shoes to students.
