ST. CLAIRSVILLE, Ohio – The Belmont County School Clothes for Kids program was announced on Wednesday, August 5 at the Belmont County Commission meeting. The partnership, funded through the Belmont County Department of Job and Family Services Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program and the Belmont County Community Action Commission will assist families in Belmont County with clothing for students heading back to the classroom.
Applications for the program open on Wednesday, August 5, and will run through Wednesday, August 19, and can be found on the United Way of the Upper Ohio Valley’s website. Families applying for the program must give Belmont County Department of Job and Family Services permission to verify TANF/SNAP eligibility. Families who qualify for the program will receive a $200 gift card to the Ohio Valley Mall. The program is limited to children and families who reside in Belmont County.
The $150,000 in funding from TANF and Belmont County Community Action Commission is expected to help 750 students at $200 each. Families receiving the assistance will agree to comply with the terms of the program.
Additionally, individuals can sponsor a child by making a $100 or $200 donation at this link.
