The Sandy O’Haver Day of Caring 2026

The United Way of the Upper Ohio Valley is excited to announce the return of the Sandy O’Haver Day of Caring, an annual event that brings together community members to give back through hands-on service projects. This day is a wonderful opportunity for volunteers to make a meaningful impact on local nonprofits and individuals in need across the region.
Help Us Bridge the Valley and Connect Communities
This special day brings people together to participate in a wide range of hands-on service projects aimed at making a real, lasting impact. Volunteers will roll up their sleeves to take on tasks such as painting public spaces, landscaping, cleaning up neighborhoods, and repairing buildings—work that not only improves the appearance of our surroundings but also revitalizes shared spaces that many rely on every day.
In addition to physical improvement projects, volunteers will partner with local nonprofit organizations to support a variety of social service initiatives. This includes organizing food and clothing drives, assembling hygiene kits and care packages for those in need, distributing essential supplies to families facing hardship, and lending a helping hand at fundraising events. Each act of service, no matter how big or small, plays a crucial role in strengthening our community fabric and providing hope, dignity, and tangible support to individuals and families navigating tough times.
Whether you’re a first-time volunteer or a seasoned community champion, your time and energy will help create a ripple effect of positivity and progress. Join us in making a difference—because together, we can build a stronger, more compassionate community for everyone. Volunteer sign ups are anticipated to begin July 2nd.
